Forensic science landscape is rapidly evolving, as digital and cyber-attacks become more frequent. Digital forensics encompasses recovery and investigation of electronic data and information found in digital devices. Highly specialized tools and techniques are used to trace the origin of cyber-attacks, information security breaches, industrial espionage, financial fraud and identity fraud among others illegal activities. Currently, digital forensics researchers and practitioners face major challenges from problems in computer science, including big data analysis, data visualizations, natural language processing and cyber-security. Moreover, digital forensic services providing companies have grown over the years increase in digitalization of data, growing number of mobile connections globally.
