In the Hytrol Distribution News, a 217,000-square foot distribution center for Southern Wine & Spirits was profiled. The facility has four pick areas, three on the ground floor, and one on the mezzanine. Orders are picked on side-by-side conveyor lines for two trucks at a time. Cases from the ground level move on incline conveyors to the mezzanine. Powered units at this level move the product to the two checker stations, where operators review the orders and release them to the shipping area. Hytrol's EZ Logic technology is incorporated throughout the facility. EZ Logic conveyors automatically sense product presence and control release and accumulation of orders from zone to zone. The distribution center has the throughput capacity to handle 2,500 cases per hour.

Arkansas Business recently reported Hytrol Conveyor Co. in Jonesboro has announced plans for a $12 million expansion that will include at least 36 new jobs. The company said the project includes a 62,000-square-foot expansion of its manufacturing facility, a new paint system, lasers, brake presses, and computerized numerical control equipment. The new expansion will also be the source of seventy five permanent positions at the Jonesboro, AR facility. Additional parking will also accommodate the company growth which is on target for the best year.

Hytrol Conveyor was chosen to move footwear and apparel for Eastbay in Wausau, WI with the help of Integration Partner, HCM Systems, Inc. based in Chicago, IL. When Eastbay decided to double the size of the current facility to over 500,000 sq. ft. they requested direction and input from three qualified system integrators. The current material handling system would require complete redesign to handle to projected case rates of 60,000 orders per day.
