The Cowboy Hat Masterpiece:
Bullhide hats have gained special recognition in the western market because of their superior finish, innovative style and exclusive trimmings. These qualities make Bullhide Hats unique. Choosing the right Hat body is only the beginning of the laborious process of making a Bullhide Hat. First each hat body is handcrafted by expert artisans using different materials: Fur felt, wool felt, and natural straws. Before qualifying as a Bullhide Hat, our hats have to pass a careful inspection made by our skilled hatters.
Each hat body is hand dipped in a special lacquer, which makes the hats more durable, water-resistant and easy to clean. Unlike some other manufactures that run their hats trough ovens, our hats are allowed to air-dry. This process takes longer, but it allows the stiffener to cure uniformly and eliminates peeling and cracking. After the completion of the stiffening process, the hats are ready for the blocking process.
We use heat, pressure, and extreme care to give the hat its final size and shape. Our hats are then trimmed to the proper brim width. On all straw and crushable felt hats we sew a special wire to the brim. This brim wire will allow you to customize your hat to your liking. It is what we call a “U-style it” brim. Then sweatbands are individually fitted to each hat. This is necessary because of the different thickness of bodies and other variables. Some other manufacturers cut the sweatband to a particular size and make it fit the hat. Individually fitting each piece of leather to each hat ensures the best fit and quality.
The final steps give the hat its unique touch: We line our hats in satin, when appropriate. Then we trim and decorate them with exclusive leather bands, rhinestones, studs, ribbons and bows, giving each hat the distinctive Bullhide look. Each hat, regardless of price or quality, must pass our rigid quality control inspections. The resulting process ensures a genuine work of art: a masterpiece, a Bull hide hat. Not just another straw cowboy hat… but a masterpiece! Our straw cowboy hats are only made from the finest natural materials such as Shantung Panama, Genuine Panama, Formosan, Bangora, and Palm Leaf. All of our straw cowboy hats are handcrafted by expert artisans and must pass a strict quality inspection. Each hat is durable, water-resistant, and easy to clean. Plus every hat is allowed to “air-dry” which allows for a stiffer cure and prevents peeling and cracking. So if you are looking for a high quality, durable and inexpensive hat, then you have found the place.

Manufacturing has been one of the few bright spots of the U.S. economy for the past several years. This is a result, in large part, of manufacturers’ ingenuity in cutting costs and finding more efficient ways to do business. As long as they continue to think creatively, Fishbowl Inventory is committed to helping U.S. manufacturers prevail.

Griffiths Plumbing and Bath sells more than 3,600 parts and products. Because they had spent so many years managing inventory on paper and in Excel spreadsheets, it took four months to get all the inventory data organized into a CSV file to import into Fishbowl Inventory. Now that the initial effort was made, the company is seeing positive results.

Mr Hand Truck is in the Commercial Equipment, N.E.C. industry located in Bronx, New York. Edwin from Mr Hand Truck shared on Software Advice that, “Fishbowl Inventory is the best Distribution software that I have ever used. Now I can make purchase orders, receipts, sale orders, quotations, take credit cards, bill of materials, manufacture orders, transfer orders and much more. After that I can transfer all the information to Quickbooks automatically. I couldn't find software with all that functionality for that price. Everything that I found was much more expensive than Fishbowl Inventory.”

John from First Place Supply noted on Software Advice that Fishbowl Inventory Software has changed their business, noting, “We're an Industrial Supply Distributor with multiple warehouses and multiple sales offices. Connecting sales to the warehouse, sales to accounting, and accounting to the warehouse is a monumental task when you're trying to do everything in Quickbooks. Fishbowl has by far been the best money we have invested in our business this year. It was difficult to implement at first, because the staff did not want to change the way they did things and the system did not match what we were doing previously. Fishbowl's way has turned out to be better. Our employees wouldn't know what to do now if they didn't have access to Fishbowl.”

There are multiple stories about guns in the news. According to Business Insider magazine, there are 129,817 gun stores in the U.S., (which, incidentally, is 14,869 more gun stores than grocery stores). Most of these businesses are small to mid-sized and are therefore using QuickBooks for accounting (QuickBooks covers over 87 percent of the small-to-mid sized business accounting software market in the U.S.).
Fishbowl Inventory has developed the top selling inventory control/manufacturing software designed specifically for the QuickBooks market. Some of the key features of interest to firearm-related businesses include serial/lot number tracking, assembly and sub-assembly tracking, vendor tracking and custom fields. Specifically every firearms manufacturer and dealer in the country must be a ATF Log Book. The ATF: Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms mandate this report and Fishbowl Inventory provides the needed data.
Fields to track include manufacturer and/or Importer, Model #, Serial #, Type, Caliber, Date in, Vendor, FFL #, Date Out, and Purchaser’s Name. Every time a firearm is sold, the seller needs to enter all of the above information into the log book (traditionally done by hand). Additionally, the ATF requires all firearms manufacturers to have the ABILITY to track all serialized component parts back to the original manufacturer in case that component was used in the commission of a crime. That is exactly the information Fishbowl tracks automatically. The ATF Log Book report in Fishbowl simply compiles the required fields into the report format the ATF wants.
CMMG, a firearms manufacturer is a satisfied Fishbowl customer. They are a small-arms manufacturer based in Fayette, MO that was founded as a hobby “offering high quality AR parts and accessories through websites and online auctions,” but quickly developed into a full-time business. CMMG now offers a wide array of rifles and component parts that are sold directly on their website. Side Note: For those new to firearms, “AR” does NOT stand for “Assault Rifle” but stands for “ArmaLite Rifle” named by the first company to develop the AR-15 platform that later sold the design to Colt. The term AR-15 really describes the firearm platform, similar to a car manufacturer to use the same frame and suspension for truck and van products, where the rifles’ receivers are a standard (fit and compatibility) across multiple manufactures in the industry.
Like many small manufacturers, CMMG began tracking inventory manually through paper, pencil, and spreadsheets; as they grew, that process became too difficult, time-consuming and prone to errors. They were also using QuickBooks to track their sales and accounting, and their website was run using the shopping cart Volusion to process online orders. As each order was received on the website, Volusion printed the sales order as a hard copy, which would then be used to hand-enter a sales order into QuickBooks and to pick, pack, and ship the order. The problem was that it was easy to lose a piece of paper (and therefore the record of that sale), and the lack of a direct integration with QuickBooks meant there was a lot of double data entry.
As a manufacturing and inventory control software solution, designed specifically for QuickBooks users, Fishbowl was chosen by CMMG to manage all inventory control and manufacturing needs, as well as to process all the orders from their website. When a sales order arrives within Fishbowl, all the inventory levels are automatically adjusted based on what was sold. Pick, Pack and Ship information is then instantly available to pickers in the warehouse via wireless barcoding devices that tell them all the items that need to be picked for each order. If the item is currently out of stock and needs to be manufactured, or reordered from a supplier, Fishbowl automatically provides the appropriate manufacturing and/or purchase orders to supply the needed products.
