Post office employees have decided to go on strike, due not only to the announcement that more than seventy of the branches owned by the state are to close, but also a dispute over pay. Friends of Vincent Boots director read that the Crown branches which will be closing are going to be franchised, and then placed within various retail shops like WH Smith. A Dagenham branch employee, Debbie Spiteri, has been working for the Post Office for three decades, and told journalists that she had assumed she would have a job there for the rest of her working days. Now, it looks as though she might be made redundant, and will be forced to look for work elsewhere.

Laura Robson has become the first woman from Britain to get to Wimbledon's last 16 in over fifteen years, following a win against Marina Erakovic. Friends of Vincent Boots Esher resident read that Robson got off to a shaky start, but quickly recovered, going on to win the match with a score of 1-6 7-5 6-3. Robson, aged 19, will now have to face the Estonian tennis star Kaia Kanepi next week. This will be the first time since 1998 that British players will have made it this far in both the women's and the men's singles. It will also be Robson's second time getting through to the last sixteen, having reached this same stage last year at the US Open.

The stock market value of the Smartphone manufacturer Blackberry plummeted by more than £1.3 billion a couple of days ago; financial reports indicate that Blackberry's attempt to update its operating system and participate in the computing revolution along with its competitors has been unsuccessful. Vincent Bootes PG Technology colleagues were shocked to learn that analysts on Wall Street, who had expected Blackberry to produce a profit of at least £16.4, revealed that the firm had not only missed its sales targets, but had experienced a loss of several hundred million.

Vincent Bootes Twitter followers were surprised to learn that Google had already submitted plans to Camden Council, to construct a one million square foot, low rise building. A representative from the company has stated that Google will be relocating its staff members, who are currently based in Holborn and Victoria, to the development in King's Cross, after it is completed in three years’ time.
