It's encouraging that job numbers are on the rise across the country. However, legal workers might still have trouble locating open positions because firms are reluctant to take on more risk (new employees) at times of financial uncertainty. Staying unemployed isn't an option. Not even considering the lack of income and mounting law school debt, being unemployed for too long could make an individual appear undesirable to hiring firms.

Over the past year, positions in the construction industry have risen, giving construction workers something to be happy about during these uncertain economic times. In fact, twenty-eight different states saw gains in the construction industry, showing a definite improvement over 2011 numbers and showing the first increase since before the recession began in 2007.

Since the start of the recession, young workers have been bearing the brunt of bad news. Fresh out of college and loaded with student loan debt, young people have had a terrible time finding employment. However, current job numbers are showing a positive change with positions filled by people aged 25 to 34 increasing by 116,000.
