Paresthesia is a neurological disorder which occurs as prickling sensation or burning in hands, legs, arms or feet, but it can also occur in other parts of body. Paresthesia is usually described as painless sensation happens as itching, skin crawling, numbness or tingling in the body without any warning. There are various possibilities which may cause Paresthesia such as- Migraines, Neuropathy, Dehydration, Nerve irritation, Hyperventilation, Neurological disorders, Heavy metal poisoning among others. The various types of Paresthesia include Obdormition, Whiplash, Hyperventilation syndrome, Panic attack, Transient ischemic attack (TIA), Seizures among others. Paresthesia occurs due to various reasons including- fallen asleep with arm crooked under their hands, or when a person has sat with crossed legs for long time.
