When Laura Whidden wrote the songs that populate her new album You Are, she did not realize exactly how far this music would reach in touching the lives of others. "I'm invested in emotional wellness issues," says Whidden. "I do a lot of work with high school and college kids and self-harm keeps coming up in the past couple years. I'll sing and girls will come up afterwards and show me their scars. So with this launch I wanted to find a way to have real awareness about the issues of depression and self-harm.”

No doubt, technology has created some amazing advances and allowed artists the ability to be even more flexible in their performance, but there has been a high cost as well.
